UMKA at the Night of Architecture and Design at FAD STU, Bratislava

The Night of Architecture and Design is an important event for the popularization of architecture, urbanism and design, when the premises of the Faculty of Architecture and Design are opened for one evening (and night) to the general public. Several thousands of participants from the general public usually participate: not only residents of Bratislava and fans of good architecture and design, but also professionals in the field of architecture and urbanism, especially the young generation, have the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of students, the results of projects and partial outputs of ongoing research activities. This year's NAD also included UMKA and the results of our cooperation with UiS. More than 100 student works that came out of this collaboration were presented in a gallery form in a really accessible way to a wider public. Especially the knowledge about the individual themes and the project, the project objectives and information about the project partners were presented interactively to make them as comprehensible as possible for the widest possible audience. Of a special interest were the outputs focused on the design of energy positive urban districts, which are a novelty not only in ours Slovak, context, but also in the context of European cities in general. We are proud to be able to participate in the development of practices on such important topics within the framework of this cooperation.
