All cities are connected by their complexity of relationships between different components – history, memory of place, social processes, economic, but also transport, or ecology of place. In each specific context, however, these components are projected into a different space and create a unique interplay. How can we translate this uniqueness into spaces that we are not familiar with? How can we work with spaces when these aspects are under continuous change? And can we take away from Slovakia the qualities of places outside our context? What tools can we use to address these themes?

Ana Llopis Alvarez from the University Stavanger, led a workshop with FAD students on the topic of quality of the living environment, using interactive methods linking Bratislava and Stavanger.
